1.Application Eligibility

a. Chinese citizens aged 16 and abovehold IDs (ID card, residence booklet, passport, driving license)

b. Childrenunder the age of 16 should be accompanied by his/her guardian.

2. Application Procedures The registration is free of charge for the first time, while 100 RMB should bepaid as the deposit. Each card can borrow 3 copies of Chinese books for 30 days, followed with a renewal of 30 days.

a.Manual service Citizens hold valid ID to the Reader Registration desk in the opening hours.

b, Self-assisted registration Citizens hold the second-generation ID card can register at the self-borrowing machine in the hall and the 24-hours self-assisted street libraries.

3. Reminders

a. Holder of the Reader's Card should obey theRules and Regulations of the Gansu Provincial Library

b. Please properly keep the books. Any damage to the bookswill be punished.

c. One Reader's Card for one person only.

4. Reporting a lost Reader's Card and Re-registration of a new card

A reader should report his/her lost Reader's Card at the Card Registration desk. Then, he/she should apply for a new card with his/her valid ID card and a processing fee (10RMB/card). The lost card will be cancelled at the same time and the reader's deposit remains valid.

5.Deposit Refunds of Reader's Card

If a reader wishes to get back the deposit, he/she must return all books on loan and clear any fee owing to the Library if any. Deposit will be refunded upon the reader presenting his/her Reader's Card or second generation ID card and the Reader’s card.
